History of CP News
Back then, in 2007, I (Peg) always visited Chewit Dude’s site. He got over 3 million hits and I was completely speechless. So in January, I decided to create my own site (peguin21795.wordpress.com) and it got as little as 4 hits per day. That time I was new to WordPress, and had no idea how to post a post
Anyhow, I was disappointed with the end result and deleted the blog. 2 weeks later, February 7th I decided to buy “Dummies for WordPress” which helped me a ton. I remade a beta site for CP news (Penguin News) or something like that. I deleted it, so I could run a complete site: CP News. I chose the domain, cpnewsandstories because I also wanted to post stories I wrote about CP over the past month.
Est. February 8th, 2008
My first post was about the new Stage Play. Nothing too big, but I did get 50 hits for the first day, by advertising on the ACP and SSACP Site. Many people including TomY and Rap complained to me, but I didn’t care. I wanted as many hits as I could possibly get. On Feburary 29th, I posted a series of pictures of the Leap Year Battle (ACP vs Nachos). At first, I thought it was useless until the next day, Oagalthorp posted my pictures on the ACP site. Apparently, those were the only pictures found on the web, and showed enough proof that ACP won the battle
Later on, I hired Shab and Jcapp to help me run Club Penguin News and Stories: One, I was going to live in Beijing and two, because I needed people to help me out. In April 2008, we got more employees: Johnny, 123antonov, Jazz77 and Lucario514. To help make our site known to everyone, we began calling it ‘CP news’. Also during April was the infamous site war. Sheila Gally kept asking me over and over again to join her site (CP Snowflake News) and quit CP news. I protested, and then CP news along with Sheila had a meeting. It was further to conclude that Sheila was to be banned from CP news and I would stick with CP news, no matter what.
The site war raged on; From reporting the news first to copying each other’s ideas. Early May, her site was hacked by an unknown accomplice. This fueled the war even more, until May 15th. I made a farewell post, and bid CP news the best of luck. I have succeeded along with my team to get a whooping 12,980 hits. Sheila Gally and her team responded to my leave, and a cease fire was called. I left Shab in charge of CP news, and that’s when the depression came (No offense to Shab). IM SORRY
Hits went down dramatically during the summer. At the end of August, the blog stats revealed itself to be 16,000. Shab tried to advertise the site on every army site, but it was helpless. As soon as I returned in October, I have noticed the damage. Even when Luc posted daily news during the summer, less than 2 comments came. Sheila’s site continued to grow, but we didn’t want another conflict. CP news was dead. Even when I rejoined, only 10 hits arrived per day. I announced in a post, CP news is dead, don’t even bother to remember it (17,000 hits so far), however, visit ‘New Club Penguin News.’ It achieved a total of 3,000 hits in 3 months, just when I gave up again. In December, every archive was erased. (Jingle, please contact WordPress to get the archives back, if possible.) One day, Late December, Luc and I proposed to restart CP news. The idea was re discussed in February, and then CP news was reopened. Today, we will prove ourselves that CP News can become what it has been in 2008.
